Shufersal is Israel's largest retail chain.
The company operates 240 stores nationwide, covering a total area of 518,000 square meters, and employs approximately 10,400 employees. Revenues in 2007 reached NIS 10.962 billion.
A strategy of leadership
Shufersal's leadership strategy leverages its strengths and competitive advantages, which include a logistics system that enables independent supply of products to the company's stores, nationwide deployment in city centers and the periphery, and financial stability.
Shufersal operates three different types of retail stores throughout Israel. In addition, the company operates the Yesh brand for large families and the ultra-Orthodox sector.
• “Shufersal Sheli” is a chain of 110 neighborhood stores providing everyday customer shopping needs, while vigilantly maintaining convenience, availability, freshness and service.
• “Shufersal Big” is a chain of 32 hypermarket one-stop shop stores that provides an optimal shopping experience and offers a wide variety of products, specialty departments and sale items.
• “Shufersal Deal” is a chain of 38 discount stores that offers low-priced products. In addition to its everyday low prices formula, the chain maintains maximum convenience and efficiency.
• “Yesh” is a chain of 53 competitive discount stores addressing large family and the ultra-Orthodox sector needs.
• “Shufersal Yashir” is a service that markets products directly to the customer’s home or office, with orders taken via the Internet, phone or fax.
Distribution Center - Shufersal owns a sophisticated 43,000 square meter logistics center in Rishon Lezion in addition to distribution centers in Vitkin, Ramle, Be'er Tuvia and Kadima.
“Shufersal” Private Label - Shufersal puts great effort into producing the company's private label to provide customers with a brand that meets high quality standards, is competitively priced and is adapted to Israeli consumer tastes. The brand currently includes about 1,260 products and is expected to reach 1,300 products by the end of 2009.
Loyalty Club and Credit Card - Shufersal's loyalty club is the leading loyalty club in Israel with membership of over one million households. Club members enjoy cash coupons, accumulated bonuses, discounts and special offers.
Shufersal Credit Card - as part of the company's strategic plan, Shufersal - together with Leumi Card and Paz - launched the Shufersal credit card in October, 2006. The card provides customers with a non-bank credit framework as well as special offers and benefits.
Income-generating real estate activity - Shufersal engages in income-generating real estate, leasing commercial centers and other properties via several subsidiaries: Shufersal Bailsol Investments Ltd. (50%-owned); Merkaz Hakirya Ltd. (50%) and Lev Hamifratz Ltd. (37%).
